About Cambridge Bioscience

Cambridge Bioscience is a dynamic and fast-growing distributor of specialist products for life science research. We work as the UK distributor for a carefully selected group of manufacturers of reagents, instruments and biospecimens that are widely used by researchers in leading academic and industrial labs across the UK and Ireland.

As part of our strategy for growth, we are committed to helping our customers achieve their research goals by making them aware of the technological innovations we offer and selecting the best products for their application.

The Technical Sales Advisor will be part of the team managing the South and West Region of the UK. The team will also include the Technical Sales Manager and two Technical Sales Specialists. The Technical Sales Advisor will report directly to the Technical Sales Manager/UK Sales Manager and will be expected to support the field-based team to increase sales within their region.

The role requires an enthusiastic, energetic, and ambitious individual who has the drive to work as part of a team and is willing to learn new skills. They will be mentored by the Technical Sales Manager and UK Sales Manager to develop their skill set with a view to using their own initiative to build relationships with customers and increase sales within their region.

This is a very support-based position and one of the key roles of the Technical Sales Advisor will be to interact with customers remotely to create more opportunities for the field-based team to meet with customers. This role therefore requires an individual who is very comfortable making cold calls and interacting with customers primarily on the telephone and by email.

These are prime sales territories, comprising top academic research centres and many leading biotech companies who are looking to invest in the best new technologies. For a driven and successful Technical Sales Advisor benefitting from our commission model, this will prove to be a fulfilling and rewarding role in which to learn new skills and develop their career. There will be the potential for the Technical Sales Advisor to learn sales skills by both in house training by the Technical Sales Manager and the UK Sales Manager and from external sales training courses.
