Product Description:
A CPT1 inhibitor and prodrug form of 4-hydroxyphenylglyoxylic acid; inhibits fatty acid oxidation and increases carbohydrate oxidation in isolated rat hearts perfused with palmitate, glucose, and insulin; increases the ex vivo activity of cardiac PDH in rats (ED50 = 0.3 mmol/kg); reduces increased lactate and LDH-1 plasma levels in a dog model of microsphere-induced coronary ischemia at 0.1 mmol/kg
