A furanocoumarin with diverse biological activities; inhibits lipid peroxidation in a cell-free assay; prevents histamine release from, and activation of NF-κB in, RBL-2H3 cells at 20 µM; prevents benzo[a]pyrene-DNA adduct formation in SENCAR mice at 70 mg/kg; reduces the number of papillomas initiated and promoted by DMBA in SENCAR mice at 30, 70, or 150 mg/kg
