A flavonoid with diverse biological activities; induces adipogenesis and glucose uptake in 3T3-L1 adipocytes at 12.5, 25, and 50 µg/ml; active against S. aureus, L. monocytogenes, B. subtilis, S. enterica, E. coli, V. cholera, K. pneumonia, S. dysenteriae, and P. aeruginosa (MICs = 24-64 µg/ml); scavenges peroxyl radicals in a cell-free assay at 1 and 10 µM
