A trichothecene mycotoxin; is toxic to pigs (LD50 = 0.38 mg/kg, i.v.); is lethal to brine shrimp (LC50 = 0.39 µg/ml); suppresses phagocytosis by, and superoxide production in, isolated microphages in an S. cerevisiae model of phagocytosis at 1 µg/ml; is toxic to barley, wheat, and sorghum seedlings (LD50s = 1.26, 3.98, and 10 mg/L, respectively); has been found as a contaminant in grasses intended to be used as animal feed
