Product Description:
A sapogenin with diverse biological activities; inhibits the proliferation of human DU15 prostate cancer cells (IC50 = 30 µM) and induces apoptosis by increasing production of ROS and decreasing mitochondrial membrane potential; reduces ischemia and reperfusion-induced myocardial dysfunction, increases LVDevP and GSH levels, and decreases cardiac LDH, CK, and MDA levels in isolated rats at 5 mg/kg for seven consecutive days prior to injury; decreases fasting blood glucose levels in KKAy insulin-resistant mice at 0.2% in chow for 6 weeks
