A monolignol conjugate; active against B. subtilis and S. aureus; scavenges DPPH radicals (EC50 = 3.6 µg/ml) and inhibits GST (IC50 = 0.3 µM for the human placental enzyme) in cell-free assays; reduces cytotoxicity induced by Aβ40 in PC12 cells at 10 and 50 µg/ml
