Product Description:
A carotenoid with hepatoprotective activity; inhibits TGF-β-induced activation of hepatic stellate cells (IC50 = 186.34 µM); reduces hepatic collagen deposition and TBARS levels, as well as serum AST and ALP activity, in a rat model of bile duct ligation-induced hepatic fibrosis at 25 mg/kg; reduces hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis in a model of NASH induced by a methionine choline-deficient diet in HBV transgenic mice
