Product Description:
A pan-CA inhibitor (Kis = 6-1,540 nM for CAI, -II, and IV-XIV) and an anticonvulsant; selective for these CAs over CAIII (Ki = 630 µM); inhibits voltage-gated sodium currents in isolated guinea pig hippocampal CA1 neurons at 10 µg/ml; reduces 4-aminopyridine-induced epileptiform activity in guinea pig hippocampal slices at 2.5 mM; induces neuron degeneration in neonatal rats at 100-300 mg/kg, i.p.; decreases forelimb clonus duration in a rat model of partial epilepsy induced by amygdaloid kindling at 25-200 mg/kg
