A steroidal saponin with diverse biological activities; inhibits superoxide generation in isolated human neutrophils from 20-100 µM; reduces EV71-induced cell death in Vero cells (IC50 = 4.3 µM); inhibits ADP-induced platelet aggregation in isolated rabbit PRP at 20, 40, and 80 mg/ml; increases APTT and decreases the wet weight and length of thrombi in Chandler’s ex vivo thrombosis model at 3 and 6 mg/kg
